Local Livelihood

Learn about every day life in rural communities. Along shaded routes lined with banana palms, fruit orchards, and traditional wooden houses, the Soksabike tour stops at several family-run cottage industries, Read more here.

Half Day Highlights (25km): Learn from local families about how they make traditional products such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste and rice wine. Taste and experience the pleasures of these products fresh off the fire. Spend some relaxing time in a traditional Khmer house enjoying seasonal fruits and coconut water. Finish your morning tour by visiting a memorial site for the victims of the Khmer Rouge. 7:30am departure, appx. 12pm return.

Full Day Highlights (33km): you will continue on to: Enjoy a delicious Cambodian lunch at a family home. Visit a Buddhist Temple to gain an understanding the principles and practices of a religion that is central to Cambodian life. To round out your education, end the day learning about Cambodian history through French colonial architectural sites. (Afternoon stops dependent on preferences and time) 7:30am departure, appx. 3:30pm return.
